3 questions I wish I’d asked as a junior marketer: Deliveroo’s Inés Ures
From getting into the fine details of effectiveness to appreciating the difference between marketing and advertising, there are some key questions Deliveroo CMO Inés Ures wishes she has asked earlier in her career.
No one could ever accuse Inés Ures of not having an affinity with numbers. After studying simultaneously for degrees in mathematics and industrial engineering, the Deliveroo CMO kicked off her career with roles in project management, customer retention and CRM, working across Europe and South America.
A former professor of digital marketing, Ures swapped the classroom for the boardroom, taking on the roles of CMO and chief customer officer at beauty marketplace Treatwell, leading a team of more than 1,000.
Next, she joined Deliveroo as CMO in 2019, where she leads on brand strategy, creative, acquisition, retention and CRM, as well as managing the brand’s subscription service Plus.
This firm grounding in the world of numbers and digital has been an advantage to Ures, although she recognises that in other ways it has prevented her from having a fully-rounded understanding of the distinction between marketing and advertising earlier in her career.
